International education

Many teachers have benefited significantly from opportunities to engage in professional development in an international context. There are three main forms of international CPD which teachers find of value:
  • individual study trips
  • group study visits
  • attendance or presentation at international seminars or conferences.

Each of these has value and can enhance teacher knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • After two group visits to Harvard, the CPD Team reviewed how these had impacted on participants and considered the outcomes from the visits.

  • Many Scottish teachers also enjoyed the opportunity of attending, or presenting at, the Scottish International Summer Schools on School Leadership which were supported by the CPD Team. You can find out more about the participants and presenters on the Summer School website.
